Celebrities Run For Their Health

Fresh air has been proven to clear the mind and bring people out of a slump or depression. Unlike a plain old walk (which is good for your health too) running gets your heart rate going much faster which gets your blood pumping. This helps your heart health and circulation too. Why not take a jog, or a run. Start out slow and for a short distance and then work your way up day by day.
Think running isn’t the cool exercise anymore? If so then you’d be wrong. Running is a full body, and lung workout. It is the best in the world of cardio exercising and it makes your legs stronger and more toned. Another bonus of running, or jogging, is that you get outdoors and you get some fresh air.

Celebrities That Love Running

What celebrities love using running in their fitness routine? Here are just a few.

Tennis great Serena Williams likes to interval run. This means she changes up her pace, often, during her run.
Why do this? It creates muscle confusion, for one thing, which keeps your muscles working and not getting bored. It also can help with your running stamina and keep you out on the track for longer. A great way to promote interval running is the right music. Make yourself a collection of music that varies in speeds and run to the beat!
Another form of interval running is run-walking where you alternate between running and walking. Run-walking has impressed many top athletes and runners, and many run-walkers find their performance for races is increased dramatically using this technique for training. Again, it’s the muscle confusion that keeps your muscles growing and getting stronger that increases performance above and beyond plain old running.

If you live somewhere flat, don’t worry – you can still get all the great benefits of running without the hills. Just try to mix it up by run-walking or interval running.

Running Tips

Always take water with you when you run. You do not want to get dehydrated while exercising.
Music will help motivate you, or a good friend along for the run can help with that too. If you have a dog take them along for your run or good. Dogs need exercise too!
Bring along your cell phone in case of an emergency.
If you are running during dusk, dawn or at night, make sure to wear reflective material so that drivers can see you.
If you are jogging in unpopulated areas be sure to bring some sort of safety devise, like pepper spray or a noise maker.
Use safety precautions when running on the streets or crossing the streets. Run against traffic so you know when a vehicle is coming and always look both ways when crossing a road.
